FOX 8: Repeal of NC Renewable Energy Law

Green State Power President, Will Stewart, spoke with FOX 8 WGHP reporter, Mitch Carr, on Thursday afternoon regarding House Bill 298 which would repeal the NC Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS). Green State Power spoke with Mitch on the roof of Greensboro Plumbing Supply, where they installed 55 kW of solar PV panels, including a solar awning on either side of the building.

The news report, which can be seen on FOX 8 WGHP, addresses Rep. Mike Hager’s (R- Rutherford, Burke) initiative to repeal the NC REPS, passed in 2007. Green State Power would like supporters of NC clean energy to contact their representatives immediately and let them know that NC voters are in favor of renewable energy and the jobs it has brought to North Carolina.
